Dew point is the temperature at which air becomes saturated and dew forms. 30°C (86°F) at 70% humidity gives a dew point of about 24°C (75°F) — very humid.

Why dew point beats humidity for comfort

Relative humidity changes with temperature during the day, but the dew point measures the actual moisture in the air. Below 10°C (50°F) feels dry; 16–18°C (60–65°F) starts to feel sticky; above 21°C (70°F) is very humid and above 24°C (75°F) oppressive.

How it is calculated

We use the Magnus formula (a = 17.625, b = 243.04 °C), accurate to about 0.4°C between −40 and 50°C. To go the other way — humidity from dew point — use the relative humidity calculator.

Live values come from global weather models (ECMWF, ICON, GFS) via Open-Meteo and refresh every 15 minutes. All calculations on this page run in your browser.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a comfortable dew point?
Roughly 10–15°C (50–60°F). Above 18°C (65°F) most people find it humid.
Can the dew point be higher than the temperature?
No. At 100% humidity the dew point equals the temperature; otherwise it is lower.
What does a high dew point mean for weather?
More moisture is available for showers and thunderstorms, and nights stay warm.
