Relative humidity = actual vapor pressure ÷ saturation vapor pressure × 100. At 30°C with a dew point of 24°C, humidity is about 70%.

What relative humidity means

Relative humidity (RH) is how much water vapor the air holds compared with the most it could hold at that temperature. Warm air can hold more, so the same moisture gives a lower RH in the afternoon and a higher RH at night.

Healthy indoor humidity

Indoors, 40–60% is generally recommended: drier air irritates the eyes and throat, while damper air encourages mold and dust mites. For outdoor comfort, the dew point is a better guide — see the dew point calculator.

Live values come from global weather models (ECMWF, ICON, GFS) via Open-Meteo and refresh every 15 minutes. All calculations on this page run in your browser.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you calculate relative humidity?
From temperature and dew point with the Magnus formula: RH = 100 × e^(17.625·Td/(243.04+Td)) ÷ e^(17.625·T/(243.04+T)).
What is a good humidity level indoors?
About 40–60%.
Why is humidity highest in the early morning?
The air is coolest then, so the same amount of moisture is closer to saturation.
