1 hPa = 1 millibar. 1 atm = 1013.25 hPa = 29.92 inHg.
Is the barometric pressure high today?
The chart uses sea-level pressure, adjusted for altitude. Guide: low below 1009 hPa, normal from 1009 to 1022 hPa, high above 1022 hPa. These are broad barometer ranges, adapted from NOAA’s reading guide, not warning thresholds. Station pressure measures air pressure at ground level and is lower at higher elevations.
How quickly is pressure changing?
Arrows compare the latest hourly value with 3 and 24 hours earlier. Following Met Office terminology, a 3-hour change of 0.1–1.5 hPa is slow, 1.6–3.5 is rising or falling, 3.6–6.0 is quick, and above 6.0 is very rapid; no change to the nearest 0.1 hPa is steady. The 24-hour arrow shows direction only.
Barometric pressure and headaches
Some people report headaches alongside weather or pressure changes. Responses vary, and this graph cannot establish a cause or predict symptoms. This is not medical advice; discuss recurring headaches with a clinician. Read more from the American Migraine Foundation.
Barometric pressure and fishing
Watching pressure changes is common angling practice, but there is no universal best pressure for fishing. Species, water temperature, wind and local conditions also matter; use the trend as context, not a catch prediction.
