Live Weather Radar

…

Radar colours run from light rain to very heavy rain and update about every 10 minutes (RainViewer). Areas without weather-radar coverage appear empty even when it is raining.

How to read the map

The radar layer shows rain that is falling now; colours run from light to very heavy rain. Drag the time slider or press play to replay the last two hours and see the forecast for the next 30 minutes. Zoom and pan the map to find your area.

Limitations

Radar only covers regions with weather-radar networks, so some parts of the world appear empty even when it is raining. Mountains can block the beam, and very light drizzle may not show. For those areas, use the hourly chance of rain instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often does the radar update?
About every 10 minutes, automatically.
Why is my area blank when it is raining?
There is probably no radar coverage there, or the rain is too light or too shallow for the radar to detect.
What do the colours mean?
They show rain intensity: cooler colours for light rain, warmer colours for heavy rain and thunderstorms.
